U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 2/18/2010
Cotton: Net Upland sales of 113,300 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 69 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Turkey (29,300 RB), South Korea (17,700 RB), Vietnam (15,000 RB), and Mexico (14,000 RB). Decreases were reported for El Salvador (1,700 RB), unknown destinations (900 RB), and Guatemala (800 RB). Net sales of 48,900 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Mexico (29,300 RB), Colombia (12,800 RB), and Thailand (5,300 RB). Exports of 231,000 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 12 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (89,500 RB), Turkey (40,100 RB), Mexico (24,000 RB), Indonesia (9,300 RB), and Taiwan (7,800 RB). Net American Pima sales of 9,100 RB were down 29 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for China (2,800 RB), Germany (2,600 RB), and India (1,500 RB). There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11. Exports of 12,300 RB were up 4 percent from the previous week, but down 29 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (5,200 RB), Taiwan (2,000 RB), Indonesia (1,600 RB), and Pakistan (1,600 RB).
